Senior Spoke Model Program Essentials! Part I :: Feature Friday :: Teran Elaine Photography
Senior Spokes Model/Rep Programs are very popular and allow you to burst into multiple school districts in the same year. Now is the time to start setting up your Senior Spokes Model Programs. (I always refer to my models as spokes models. The thought of being a spokes model sounds like so much fun!)
Perks! When creating your spokes model program, remember that you want to make those seniors say “OH, I DEFINITELY want to be a part of that!” Will they really care if they earn money towards their session? Maybe, but probably not. Combine that with Visa Gift Cards, iTunes gift cards, mini sessions or more and you will find seniors have more of an interest.Create an application! Once your perks are in place, you must figure out a way for your seniors to apply. In your application be sure to ask questions about activities, clubs and organizations the senior is involved with. The more activities, the more connections! Many times with the application, seniors are required to send in a headshot with their application. While optional, it’s a good idea – this will allow you to place a face with the name.
Market! So you are wanting to break into the market or a new school district and find those spokes models…but how? Create Facebook pictures that show off some of your best work and promote the link to your application. Ask others to share with seniors that they may know. Make up some cards displaying past seniors that you have photographed, your website and spokesmodel application link and use them to network with others! This promotes your program and your business at the same time.Choose and Meet! Once you have chosen your models, have a meeting at your local bakery or coffee shop to discuss your contract (yep you’ll need one of those too), perks and incentives! Be sure to meet with both your model AND his or her parents. At this time you may also want to set up a date to photograph the senior during a mini session. This will allow you to get a few headshots to create their spokes model cards.
Good luck organizing your own spokes model program!
